Stand-Up and Sit-Down Forklifts
Which one works best for you?
What kind of forklift does your operation need? Most people would pick a sit-down forklift becauseit is standard, but sometimes a stand-up forklift is better to get the job done.
Ask yourself some questions before choosing a forklift:
- Will the lift beused for extended periods throughout the day?
- How far will the forklift travel?
- Does the operator have to get on and off the machine frequently?
- What is the product being moved?

Stand-Up
A major advantage of a stand-up forklift is visibility. Stand-up forklifts are also made to operator more efficiently in smaller spaces and their turning radius is improved because they are compact. They can fit in narrow aisles better than even a 3-wheel sit-down lift. Some operations will only allow for the use of a stand-up forklift.

Sit-Down
An obvious perk of a sit-down forklift is comfortability. The operator is comfortable and that is important when using a forklift for an extended period of time. If your operation doesn’t require you to constantly get up and move product, a sit-down forklift is the right choice. Sit-down forklifts come in 3-wheel and 4-wheel lifts depending on your operation.
